My experience with WWCT - Sashini Fernando

Updated: Dec 13, 2018

Sashini Fernando – Ladies College, Colombo & Monash University, Australia

Jan – March 2015

“During my time volunteering with the WWCT on the leopard project, I enjoyed working with Anjali and the WWCT team while learning more about what goes into conserving an endangered species such as the Sri Lankan leopard. I felt like a part of the team and they welcomed any questions or suggestions I made while helping out on different areas of the project. I hope to work with them again in the future and recommend it to anyone interested in working in the field of conservation”.

Sashini volunteered with us during her university vacation. She helped with the various awareness materials we use for our awareness programmes and created a stand-alone mobile poster unit on the Sri Lankan leopard. She also helped with the conceptualising of a proposed student field ecology camp that WWCT hopes to launch in the near future. She was unable to join us in the field due to illness.
