AWARENESS PROGRAMMES
2025 Initiatives: We have set up 8 Forest Guardian resource rooms along Peak Ridge Forest Corridor, some in schools and some in estate community centers. Each resource room is equipped by WWCT with tables, chairs, book shelves and cupboards as well as the educational and awareness materials including reading books, workbooks, identification guides, posters, stickers etc. This is a long-term, ongoing component and we plan to add 7 additional Forest Guardian resource rooms along Elbedda Ridge Corridor in 2026. Regular educational sessions are conducted with Forest Guardians by our outreach officer.
We also use in-field awareness sessions (often occurring alongside snare patrols) to educate estate workers and other community members about the importance of intact ecosystems and biodiversity as well as the cruelty and illegality of snaring.
